Derby Party FAQs
Please consider Marc Nelson for all your Derby attire needs. If you let them know Camp Fire sent you, they will generously donate 20% of the sale to us.
What should I wear?
The Kentucky Derby is a chance to show off your fanciest dress or most dapper suit. Hats and tails and fascinators will all fit right in. While we don’t have a required dress code, this is a great opportunity to dress up as fancy as you please!
What is included in my ticket?
Your ticket includes entrance to the party, food (heavy hors d’oeuvres), Beer, Wine and of course: Mint Juleps!
How do I participate in the auction?
You will need to download the GIVI app. You should have received a text or email with your unique auction access code. The Silent Auction preview will open May 1st at 6pm, and will open for bidding on May 3rd at 6pm. Email Natalie if you need assistance: email@example.com
What will do at the party?
When you’re not raising a Mint Julep to toast, or eating some delicious food, we’ll be enjoying the following events:
WIN, PLACE, SHOW
Purchase tickets to take a “chance” on your favorite horse(s) to win, place, or show during the race. One lucky ticket will be pulled of the top three finishers after the race.
“Buy” your own race horse in the mock horse auction. Find information on the horses on the program insert. The “owner” of the winning horse will receive 50% of the pot.
Elaborate hats are an iconic feature of Derby garb! Our secret judges are keeping their eyes peeled for a “Perfecta” (traditional elegance at its finest) and a “Trifecta” (fun & unique twist). Winners receive a CASH PRIZE!
TROUGH OF CHEER
Purchase a keepsake horseshoe and be entered to win the coveted trough full of assorted spirits—only 150 available for purchase!
FEED YOUR THIRST
Purchase a keepsake Kentucky Derby Party bottle opener and be entered to win a bucket filled with assorted beers & wines—only 100 openers available!
Get your “pull” and you’ll be entered to win a bottle of bourbon or a bourbon-themed item.
HATS AND TAILS
Players gather in the main room to guess if a coin flip will reveal heads or tails by placing their hands on their hat or…tail! Last player standing wins 50% of the take
Where will the party be held?
We will be at the Lone Palm Golf Club at 800 Lone Palm Dr, Lakeland, FL 33815
